Chad & Bridget – Married March 31st, 2008
Posted on March 31, 2008
The wedding season has officially begun! I must say, I’m very excited, but at the same time, I am going to miss having some free time on my hands.
This was a great wedding to start out the season. Chad & Bridget were referred to me by a previous wedding client. What a wonderful couple to work with! They met 6 years ago when Bridget’s sister married Chad’s best friend, and they were paired up in the wedding party. Then over the fishing opener last year, they were engaged. Their ceremony was held at St. Catherine’s in St. Paul in their chapel. It is truly a beautiful & gorgeous church. Apparently, though, you can only get married there if you went to college at St. Catherine’s. Luckily for Bridget, she did graduate from St. Kate’s. They had a small guest list of only 100 people, but you could definitely feel the love and support from all of their family and friends. Here’s to a great start to the 2008 wedding season!
Chad on his way to see his bride for the first time
This little girl was so adorable, especially with the window light coming in through the church.
I love this shot of the boy looking out the huge door for guests. He was one of the helpers handing out programs for the wedding.
Like I said above… gorgeous!
Snagging a quick look at each other during the ceremony
This little boy was fascinated with my camera. So much so, that he started to giggle and laugh during the ceremony!
Grandma & Grandpa staring up at the couple during their vows.
They had to remove the microphone from the priest and put it on Chad for their vows. I couldn’t tell if this was an unexpected moment or if they just had technical difficulties removing the microphone. Either way, it was a comical moment in the ceremony!
Bridget getting slightly emotional during her vows
I love kids at a wedding
There was this beautiful stairway going down to the bride’s room downstairs. We were able to get some pretty amazing shots with the window light here.
Their reception was held at the Summit Manor House in St. Paul.
She wanted a shot with her grandmother, but this was taken in-between shots. I love it!!!
I think this little boy was trying to smell the cakes. Whatever he was doing, I definitely caught him in the act. The fact that there is a fork in his hand makes this shot even better
I’ve seen this speech at least a dozen times at weddings. The person making the speech tells the groom to put his hand over his bride’s hand. Then, the person says, “Now, this is the last time that you will have the upper hand.” Hilarious, huh?!
Congrats, Chad & Bridget on a beautiful day!

Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly
Posted on March 31, 2008
As a side job, I volunteered to do some photography work for an organization called Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly. This organization was actually passed to me by a former wedding client of mine who thought I might be interested. Here is their website & mission if you are interested about learning more:
“Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is an international non-profit volunteer-based organization committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We offer, to people of goodwill, the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.”

I plan to do a series of pictures from their different groups that gather a few times a month. The first group I attended was their monthly needlework group. What a wonderful group of people! It was really fun to talk to everyone and hear people’s stories. I really enjoyed the fact that this group of seniors have someplace to go and socialize and not be alone. I can only imagine what that must feel like, which is why I took on this job to help this volunteer organization. Stay tuned for more images from their different groups!

Mya – 18 Months
Posted on March 30, 2008
This past Wednesday, I met with Allison & Joel and their little girl, Mya. She was a darling one who gave me lots of fun and different shots. My bubble machine definitely got alot of use with this session! Mya definitely loved those bubbles. Her parents brought in her little red wagon to take some pictures. We got such cute shots in the wagon, I’m considering purchasing one strictly for the studio. Thankfully, the weather was nice enough where we were able to get outside for some pictures with their Golden Retriever, Maverick. I’m looking forward to seeing them at Mya’s 2 year pictures!
She discovered her mom’s chapstick in her purse and wouldn’t put it down for the pictures. She continued to spread it all over her face
Mya got to try on my new tutu skirt, with the bubbles of course
Just before we were to head outside, Mya started to dance to herself, with no music. It was so adorable!
Ah! Finally, outside!
