Brent & Laura – engaged to be married on October 2nd!

Brent & Laura is my 2nd engagement session of the weekend. We met up at the Rose Gardens in Minneapolis, which was hopping with multiple weddings that night. Laura is a childhood friend of mine who found me on Facebook. Then, she got engaged to Brent and asked me to be the photographer for their wedding day! She recalled one story when she was in my backyard and accidentally poked herself in the eye with a stick, while bending down to pick up a ball. It didn’t seem bad at the moment, but the next day she was wearing an eye patch. Whoops! I didn’t recall the story as she told it, but I do remember the patch on her eye. 
Brent & Laura are such an adorable couple who are deeply in love. I’m so excited to be the photographer for their wedding in October!!!

Brennan & Laina

This morning I met up with Brennan & Laina at the playground & park near my studio. Brennan will be turning 3 in a week and Laina is 18 months, the most difficult of ages to photograph. She certainly didn’t fail to live up to the expectation! I think I managed to get just one smile out of her the entire time, and thankfully I was able to get it on camera. Part of the reason I got this blog posting up so quickly was to reassure Brennan & Laina’s parents, Guido & Erin, that even though a session can be completely hectic, chaotic, and a disaster, you can still get some great shots. I must admit that I was a little worried, but going through the pictures, there were lots of “keepers,” as evidenced by the blog posting below. Guido works with my husband, so I was honored that they chose me for their family pictures this spring. I’m already looking forward to the next session with these two!!

This was the only one I capture of these two kind of looking at the camera. It’s actually sort of a cute picture of them… at least I think so!

Amanda & Steve – Engaged to be married on August 29th

3 months from this engagement session, I will be shooting Amanda & Steve’s wedding in Marshall, MN. What a blast these two were! They were up for anything and were enjoying every moment of it. The whole time, we were wondering if it was going to start downpouring, since thunder clouds were looming over us the entire session. It did start to sprinkle a little, but that’s all Mother Nature could muster. It was my 2nd time shooting an engagement session out and about near the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. This time, a wedding was going on at the Mill City Museum, which is a beautiful ceremony & reception venue right next to the Guthrie. We decided to take some shots on the side of the Mill City while the ceremony was going on, and we were scolded by the “museum lady” who probably was helping to coordinate the wedding. I loved how these pictures turned out and can’t wait to go through the rest of them! It’s going to be a fun wedding in 3 months, that’s for sure.
After we were done taking these pictures in the grass, Steve told me that he was allergic to grass! I felt awful that I put him in there, but he assured me that a little itching wasn’t going to kill him.
