Juliette – 3 weeks

Lisa & Matt welcomed their first baby, Juliette, 3 weeks earlier than her due date. In fact, her due date was right around when we had her session. They told me this at the very end of the session, and I couldn’t believe that she was born at 37 weeks! Juliette was a little sleepy at first, but then once she woke up, she was definitely awake and alert. In all honesty, those are my favorite photos from newborn sessions. Lisa & Matt were gifted this session from a friend as a baby gift. It was such a pleasure to meet their family and work with them. Congrats on the new addition!!

Sophia & Cole

I had a blast working with Sophia & Cole and their family. They couldn’t have asked for a better night! We decided to head over to the Guthrie/Mill City Museum in downtown Minneapolis, the same place I went for my May mini-sessions. It was exactly how I expected it to be, however the grass what a heck of alot longer! The same place where I had my chair sitting in the grass, the grass was taller than Sophia! It sure made for some fun photos, though. Both Cole & Sophia celebrated their birthdays this summer. Cole just turned 1 and Sophia 5. These two were adorable and gave me some adorable photos as well.

Gage – 1 year!

When we scheduled this session, Gage’s mom was worried that he wouldn’t be doing so well, since we started the session at the same time he goes to bed! Even though he did get a little cranky towards the end, he did so great. We started out with some family photos with Gage’s grandma & grandpa and aunt & uncle, and then focused on him and his mom & dad. The lighting was fantastic and perfect for a summer evening. The only thing all of us would have changed would be the humidity. All of us were talking about sweat running down our backs! Thank goodness we got a little bit of relief down by the beach when there was a nice breeze coming off the lake. Gage just celebrated his 1st birthday, so Happy Birthday, little man! Enjoy the photos!

August Studio Mini-Sessions!

Here we go! These were my first mini-sessions at my studio where we were also able to head outside into the backyard. I was pretty sick of those stairs by the last session. All I have to say is thank goodness the rain held off! Even though it got more and more humid with each session, there wasn’t rain. All of the kids seemed to have a blast outside and inside, for that matter. This was also the mini-sessions with three pregnant mamas, two of which I was surprised with the news! It was a crazy and fun morning, and here are the photos to prove it

First up is 4-year-old Michael, who will be welcoming a little brother in a few months!

He was such a boy when I asked him about his mommy’s tummy. Yup, that’s where his mommy’s tummy is!

This photo just cracks me up!

Little 2-year-old Maliya was next up, who will also be welcoming a little sister in November!

“Where’s the baby, Maliya?”

Joey & Gia are next on the list, who will ALSO be welcoming a new sibling this winter!

She was jumping from the edge of the bridge to the ground, but man does it sure looks like she has some major air in this photo!

The fourth session of the morning belonged to Riley & Delaney, another cute pair of siblings. Their mom isn’t expecting, though, as far as I know.

Finally, it’s Brooke’s turn! She was full of energy, which made her a blast to photograph.

Vince & Taylor

I had the opportunity to visit and work with Vince & his new baby sister at their home this past Wednesday. I have worked with Vince a few times before, once at the studio and the other time at his home for his 12 month photos. It was so much fun meeting his new little sister, Taylor! She was certainly one to let us know what she wants, and what she wanted was to leave that pacifier in her mouth. And, if it wasn’t in, we didn’t have long before she lost it. The session was definitely full of excitement! Enjoy!

I thought it was great that she got this as a gift for Taylor. I chuckled about it when I first shot this photo, but what I didn’t realize is how true that pacifier was for the remainder of the session!

Meet, Jenni & her family! She was the person who took over my old studio space and filled it with her own massage therapy business. I’m honored that she came to me for her family’s photos. These kids were so much fun to work with and yielded some awesome photographs. Tristen was especially excited about taking a photo for his Facebook page. It got my creative gears going, that’s for sure! Thanks again for visiting and the best of luck to Jenni & her business!

Aren – 3 months

Aren is the son of our good friends, Jay & Alyssa. We attended their wedding a few years back in Mexico, and now we got to meet their new little guy, Aren! He was all smiles at first, but then his little tummy started to bother him. The pediatrician put it perfectly, regarding Aren’s digestion. He said his gut could have used another trimester to develop, so the poor little guy was uncomfortable for alot of the session. I was a little worried we weren’t going to get the shots we needed, however he kept it together long enough to get some great photos. Aren is such a little cutie, and I can’t wait to work with him again when gets older!

Carson & Ian

There is never a dull moment whenever I work with these boys. I last saw them in May for my mini-sessions, and this session was their first time in the studio with me. I wasn’t sure how things were going to go in a confined space vs. outdoors, however they seemed to go smoothly. Once we had the tricycle under control (and promised them special treats from my bucket), we got some fantastic family photos. These two were super cute and tons of fun to work with, despite all of their energy & spunk.

Ava Rose – 1 year

This little one never fails to show give me what I’m looking for, even at a young age. Now, she is all grown up and nearly walking and definitely chattering up a storm. It’s really an honor to document babies like Ava through their first year. Despite the heat and humidity, we ventured outside into the backyard of the studio for some outdoor shots. The lighting was amazing, and Ava looked beautiful. We then came back into the studio to get some more formal shots of Ava in her cute dresses! She was pretty antsy by this time, so it took alot of work on all of our parts to keep her on set.

Just before we sat down to take this photo, a BADGER comes out of the brush and walks back into it. At first glance, we thought it was a beaver, but then once I took a look at the photos later, it turned out that it was a badger. Creepy stuff!

She rolled over for the first time at her 3 month session… why not find the inside of her nose at her 1 year session?!

Jack, Martin, & Chase

It’s late, so I’m not going to write too much. However, I shouldn’t need to say much, as the photos speak for themselves, as they always do with this family. These kids are always such a blast to work with and never fail to give me something new and fun with each session. This time, we played with their four-wheelers and the sprinkler with water guns. It was fantastic! So, without further delay, here are Jack, Martin, & Chase!
