Joy & Larry

Posted on February 28, 2007

This past Saturday, I shot Joy and Larry’s wedding at Forepaugh’s in St. Paul. I have to admit, I have never been there, even though I have heard of it. What a beautiful place. I had no idea it was an old, gigantic mansion! There were three floors, and each of the floors had seating for dinner. The wedding took place on the 1st floor and their reception dinner was on the third floor. I was truly amazed at the love and emotion this couple showed. They have been together for 7 years and finally decided to tie the knot.  Here are some of my favorite pictures of the day.

They refused to see each other before the ceremony.  This was the first time they saw each other, just as she was about to come down the aisle.

He started to cry during his vows.  A very emotional moment in the ceremony.

Not the most perfect picture, but I love the sheer happiness on her face that she just married the love of her life.

The happy couple…

Remember, it was starting to snow pretty hard that night.  I thought this would be a good way to remember that detail.

And, a final toast to close up the evening.

Jessica & Jason

Posted on February 22, 2007

Wow.  I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since I took Jessica and Jason’s engagement pictures.  They are getting married in May in St. Paul with the reception at Matty B’s Supper Club.  What a cute couple!  We ventured over to the Como Park Conservatory and weaved our way through the massive crowds.  I thought for sure it would start to slow down as it neared closing time, but I swear it was getting busier.  Needless to say, we were excited to get outside for some great pictures.  I feel that the ones taken outdoors turned out to be the best ones of the session.  The light really caught Jessica’s big, green eyes, and they really huddled together to keep each other warm.  I think the cold helps people to be themselves in front of the camera.  They have something more important to worry about, rather than a camera in their face!

Jackie + Kevin

Posted on February 19, 2007

Jackie and Kevin were one of the two couples that I shot on Saturday for their engagement pictures. They were a quiet, yet romantic couple, that posed very naturally together. The two of them had a ton of fun and braved the cold for some nice pictures. She is a student and a nanny, while Kevin is a productions specialist. They met through a friend 2 years ago and just got engaged this past December. I’m excited to shoot their upcoming wedding this June!
