Jessica + Jason

Posted on May 16, 2007

I had the pleasure of shooting Jessica & Jason’s wedding on Saturday, May 5th. They were my second wedding of the day. Needless to say, it was a long day. I wouldn’t have had it any other way, though. Jessica & Jason were wonderful. It did help to do an engagement session with them back in February. When the wedding party arrived at Rice Park for pictures, all of us knew what to expect from each other. Therefore, we got tons of pictures in a short amount of time! Unlike Megan & Troy, Jessica & Jason were blessed with a sunny afternoon wedding. The sun broke just as we were going to start pictures. Jessica is just finishing up law school and will be taking the bar this summer. Here are some of my favorites:

Even though it was sunny, the wind was blowing like crazy!

Yes! She was decorating the church in her wedding dress. This is why I love weddings.

She was talking to me about something going on that night and loved the way she was leaning on the ledge.  I told her not to move while I snapped her picture :)

Megan + Troy

Posted on May 14, 2007

Megan and Troy were the first wedding I had on Saturday, May 5th.  What a fun couple!  They were very laid back about their day and wanted to soak up every moment.  Their family and friends were so supportive and willing to do everything it took to make their day even more special.  They were married at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church and had their reception at the Embassy Suites in Downtown St. Paul.  Despite the rain on her wedding day, she was in high spirits hoping that rain meant “good luck”.

She showed me a picture of her aunt and uncle who took a similar picture in the same church.  I think we got a close match :)

The bride and groom love pool, so they helped themselves while waiting for their reception to start.

Colin, Emily, Emma, & Gabe

Posted on May 9, 2007

On Sunday, I went to Loring Park in Minneapolis and shot the Abu-Zeid’s family’s pictures. If you follow my blog closely enough, you will recognize this family from the Spare Key event I photographed in March! She loved those initial pictures of her kids so much, she wanted to get more taken of her whole family. The two kids, Emma (3) & Gabe (10 months), are two extraordinary children. Emma has been diagnosed with downs syndrome, and Gabe was born with a heart defect. He is scheduled for another heart surgery on the 15th of May, so Mom wanted to get the kids’ pictures in before Gabe undergoes his second surgery. Despite the wind, we found some great shade to get some gorgeous pictures. Here are some of my favorites from Sunday:
