Julie + Nick – Engaged to be Married on September 29th
Posted on June 28, 2007
Finally, my third shoot of the day on Saturday was Julie & Nick’s engagement pictures. We ventured out to the Maple Grove Arboretum, a neat little park right off of 94 & Weaver Lake Road. They wanted their dog, Ella, in some of their pictures, so she tagged along as well. This was a really fun shoot, however it was still really hot and really sticky, even at 6:00 at night! When it’s so hot, it’s uncomfortable to stay close and “cuddle” for the picture, it’s a little difficult to feel comfortable. I think we still managed to get some great pictures of the couple and with their dog, Ella.

I loved this picture of the dog!

Samantha & Craig – Married on June 23rd, 2007
Posted on June 26, 2007
This was my 2nd shoot of the day on Saturday. It was a wedding, but a very short & intimate one. This wedding and reception was held at Forepaugh’s, my 2nd time shooting at that location. The last time I was there, it was February and cold and snowing! I believe we had a big snowstorm that night, in fact! Needless to say, this wedding was just the opposite. It was held outside on their deck in the hot sun. Thank goodness for the little bit of shade we had from the building and umbrellas. Here are some of my favorites from their wedding day:
Here is a picture of the wedding guests, couple, and wedding party. As you can see, it was a very small wedding

Some pictures of the bride:

The Groom:

The couple!

She was fixing her shoe before heading down the aisle. What a neat moment to catch! I love this picture!

They walked back down the aisle to “Ma-na-ma-nah”… Doo dooooo doo doo doo.
It was definitely one of the more unique moments I’ve experienced at a wedding.

Bride & Groom celebrating after their marriage ceremony. This is the moment during a wedding day where you can capture so much emotion.

Congrats, Samantha & Craig! Thanks for the great experience!

Elliott’s Senior Pictures
Posted on June 25, 2007
On Saturday, Elliott was the first of my 3 photoshoots. He is going to be a senior this year at St. Thomas Academy and loves to run on their cross country & track team. In fact, we had to push the shoot back an hour, so he could compete in a couple of races in the morning! Elliott actually got a little sick after his second race, but he was ready to take his pictures and it shows. He is still deciding on where he wants to go to college. Among his choices are Gustavus Adulphus, St. Thomas, St. John’s, & University of Colorado-Boulder. All I care is that he picks St. John’s over St. Thomas.
Go Johnnies!

Ok, so this pictures needs a little explanation. There is a grotto behind St. Thomas Academy with this stone wall. Apparently, Elliott is the first person to jump this wall, so they wanted a picture of him doing just that.

His sister Chloe tagged along, so we got a few pictures with her and Elliott.

I love this shot. He really wasn’t running all that fast, but it sure looks that way!

Congrats, Elliott! Hope your senior year is fantastic!
