First Studio Pictures!

Well, it’s a start…

For those of you who don’t already know, I am extremely busy right now. I probably wouldn’t be as busy had it not been for the studio venture I decided to take. My landladies were very gracious to let me move my studio stuff into my space a few days early since I was running out of room in our dining room. I moved things in today, and by this afternoon, I was taking pictures! Here are a few samples. I wasn’t expecting to be up and running this quickly, so this is a delightful surprise! The baby in the penguin outfit is my friend’s baby, Adelynn. You might recognize her from some of the children’s pictures I have on my website. The other child is my little boy, Nicholas. He is at that fun age right now (14 months) where taking pictures of him is such a challenge. You can’t tell him to sit still (or do anything for that matter), because he isn’t going to listen. That’s where being a “good photographer” comes in, as well as a good mommy.

Needless to say, I am on so incredibly excited about the studio. I am done with phase 1: set-up lighting and make sure I can take pictures that “look good.” Phase 2 is on its way! Stay tuned!

Becky & Aaron – Engaged to be Married April 5th, 2008

I met up with Becky & Aaron at the Lyndale Rose Gardens on Wednesday night to take their engagement pictures. We got the pictures finished just before the rain and storms rolled through. My last engagement shoot at the Rose Gardens was another narrow miss of some storms! Anyway, I met Becky & Aaron through one of my clients, whose wedding is coincidentally this weekend. So, it won’t be long before I meet up with them again. We also discovered when we first met that Aaron’s dad and my grandpa go on frequent fishing trips together! Talk about a small world! Becky & Aaron are a delightful couple, and I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding next April.

The Lezer Family – Trent, Tisha, Max, & Emma

On Sunday night, I ventured up to Elm Creek Park to take the Lezer’s family pictures. We were questioning the weather and if it would be good enough to take their pictures due to the wind & heat, but it actually turned out to be a perfect evening for pictures. We were even able to capture the colors on the leaves, despite them being duller and falling sooner due to the dry summer. I originally met the Lezer family at Michelle & Jeff’s wedding back in June. Tisha is Michelle’s sister, in case you couldn’t see the resemblance Enjoy a sample of their pictures below!
