Kathy & Eric – Engaged to be married July 18th

Last Friday evening, I met up with Kathy & Eric to shoot their engagement pictures at Rice Park. I met Kathy when I was Nicole & Chris’ photographer for their wedding last May. Kathy was Nicole’s maid of honor at her wedding! When Kathy & Eric got engaged about 2 weeks ago, I was on their list to talk to about being the photographer for their wedding day. They claim to be introverts, however the child at heart came out during their pictures. It was nice to change it up a bit from taking my “traditional” engagement shots. Both Kathy & Eric have their doctorate degrees, Kathy in psychology and Eric in engineering. Now, they are off to step into the next phase of their lives… marriage! See you two next July!

Instead of walking, Eric wanted to “strut” like John Travolta.

Emily & Mike – Engaged to be married October 18th

It’s been a while since I had a shoot at Minnehaha Falls. It’s still as beautiful as ever, despite things winding down due to winter being right around the corner. Emily & Mike couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was a bit chilly, however the sun was shining and the lighting was perfect. I first met Emily at Jen & Adam’s wedding back in late August. She was recently engaged and was looking for a photographer! She loved how Jen & Adam’s pictures turned out and the rest is history. Emily & Mike originally met through one of Emily’s co-workers at a work function. Mike walked in with his sister (Emily’s co-worker), and she thought they were dating! Needless to say, that wasn’t the case, but Mike & Emily’s love blossomed from there. I’m excited to be a part of their day next October!!

I love this picture. It’s perfect with her red hair!!

Isn’t this the coolest picture?! My photographic talents were definitely tested with this shot.

Steph & Brian – Engaged to be Married September 20th, 2008

Whew! One week ago today, I shot Steph & Brian’s engagement pictures out at the Clearly Lake Visitor Center in Prior Lake. They were my last session of the weekend (#8!), but I was still very excited to work with them. The weather wasn’t as perfect as it was the day before. That didn’t stop us from getting some great shots! Steph & Brian originally met on the Yahoo! personals page, and from what I could tell from the session, they are definitely a couple who’s made for each other. They are both goofy, silly, fun, & laid-back. I feel that I captured those qualities during their photo session. I’m looking forward to their wedding next September!
