Introducing Baby Grady!

Posted on January 31, 2008

If you remember a posting a few weeks ago of the pregnant belly, that was baby Grady in there!  Well, 2 weeks ago, he finally made his appearance.  Now, it was time to get some pictures of the little guy.  Shelly had some ideas in mind for the pictures she wanted.  It’s sometimes hard to follow a client’s ideas, while also maintaining your style.  I think we ended up with some fantastic images, while also getting those special ones Shelly wanted.  We were also able to get a few shots with the older 3 children and the entire family.

Grady wasn’t such a fan of being naked or having the lights flash in his eyes.  After we got him in some clothes on, he was much more relaxed, even with the flash in his eyes!

This picture wasn’t originally set-up.  Shelly was simply holding his hands down so that we could see his face.  I thought it made a great shot.

This was one of Shelly’s ideas that she had seen before.  It will be going on her birth announcement with some clever saying about adding another pair of feet to the family…. I wish I could remember it, because it certainly was clever! :)

Brownie Visit

Posted on January 25, 2008

On Thursday afternoon, my little cousin’s Brownie troop visited my studio for a field trip.  I must confess that I wasn’t quite sure what exactly I was going to say to some 1st & 2nd grade girls about photography.  However, once I told them that they were going to be able to take some pictures (with my $4,000 camera combination) and have pictures taken of them, the girls got very excited.  I think they learned a few pointers about the world of photography as well.  I have posted below individual pictures of the brownie girls, along with some group shots.  As you can see, they are really a fun group.  It was a pleasure meeting all of them and having them in my studio for a visit!

I picked up some fun accessories at Target prior to the session.  I figured the girls would have fun with them, and I would also have some fun dress-up stuff for future sessions!  The big, white sunglasses seemed to be a hit :)

Now for the crazy & fun group shots!

Ah… the nice, sweet, everyone hugging, picture.

Then, I had the girls “strike a pose” for a few of the shots.

Cianna June

Posted on January 24, 2008

I had the pleasure of taking Cianna’s newborn pictures this morning in my studio.  This was also my first official newborn session in the studio, so I wasn’t quite sure how it was all going to pan out.  However, Cianna was such a wonderful subject, she made my job tons easier!  Her mother & I went to high school together and played on the same basketball team together.  We reconnected recently at a birthday celebration for our ex-assistant coach.  She was 9 months pregnant and ready to have this baby!  After Cianna was born, she got in touch with me about taking her pictures.  I was thrilled to take on the job!  I am also very excited about how the pictures came out from the session.  Brie (Cianna’s mom) wanted all naked pictures Cianna, therefore we had a couple of accidents to clean up.  But, it could have definitely been alot worse!

All of us were anticipating Cianna to sleep through at least some of the session, but she was wide awake the whole time!  So much for the serene, sleeping, baby pictures :)   I didn’t mind, since we captured some great expressions.  Take a look below and you be the judge!
