Matt & Sarah – Married on June 27th, 2008
Posted on June 30, 2008
Wow! What a weekend! I had two weddings this weekend, and Matt & Sarah started it off for me. What an amazing day they had planned. First of all Sarah, looked absolutely amazing. I obviously see alot of weddings, so was delighted to see how unique her look was. Sarah & Matt were referred to me from Jason & Jessica, who were married last May. Sarah & Jessica met on the pageant circuit in MN. Sarah was actually Miss Minnesota & Miss International winner! Matt & Sarah met originally at church and had strong feelings about one another right from the start. 7 months later, they were engaged! There were several moments during the day where you could really feel their love for one another. Enjoy the sampling of pictures from their day and feel free to leave comments for Matt & Sarah!
I absolutely loved what she did with her hair!
Their first meeting
They had notes to each other that they read to one another before the events of the day got underway.
Matt got a little choked up a few times when Sarah was reading her note.
She had little oranges in her bouquet!
We had very limited time outside, since there were ominous clouds off in the distance. Shortly after we went inside, it started to downpour!
Sorry for all of the pictures. There were so many to choose from!
Dad sneaking a look at his daughter just as they head down the aisle.
Their reception was held at Centennial Lakes Park.
A nice moment caught during their receiving line.
Sarah loves to collect the type of horses that are top of their cake.
This was all Sarah’s idea, so I can’t take credit for it. She wanted a shot of everyone from across the little pond at Centennial Lakes. It turned out awesome!
Gotta love dragging that shutter
They didn’t do a garter toss, however Sarah wanted to surprise Matt with a garter decorated with the emblem from his alma mater, Penn State. This is Matt’s reaction. I love this picture!
They did a sparkler exit at the end of the night. Just as everyone was getting lined up with their sparklers, it started to drizzle! Thankfully, it didn’t last long. I got such great pictures of this, I had to post a few.
Congrats, Sarah & Matt. I know you are having a blast in Mexico!!

Luke & Katy – Engaged to be Married on August 23rd!
Posted on June 25, 2008
Last night, I shot Luke & Katy’s engagement pictures over at a really nice park in West St. Paul. I actually grew up around the area, so that’s how I knew about it. They were coming from Cottage Grove, and I was coming from Eagan. This was a nice halfway point for both of us! This was actually my first time meeting Katy face to face! Prior to booking me, I met with Luke & Katy’s mother at my studio, so I had already met Luke. Up until this summer, Katy was in Seattle finishing up school. She was fortunate enough to find a job prior to coming back to MN at the U of MN! This engagement session was alot of fun. We did alot of walking back and forth (due to where the sun was in the sky), but got some great pictures. Feel free to leave a comment for myself, Luke, or Katy! Enjoy!
There was this great little bridge where the light was outstanding. We probably spent at least 1/2 of the session here!

Charlie & Jill – Married on June 21st, 2008
Posted on June 24, 2008
Charlie & Jill ended up with a gorgeous day for their wedding last Saturday. They met a few years ago when they were both teachers at Coon Rapids High School. Now, Jill is an English teacher at another high school, while Charlie resides at 3M. He also loves to coach high school football. We started out the day at the Mississippi Dunes Golf Course in Cottage Grove for some formal pictures and then headed out to Rose of Sharon Church, also in Cottage Grove. For me, the day was filled with lots of fun and interesting things. One of which was watching a couple of college friends ride by on a golf cart during formal pictures. The 2nd one was running into an old basketball coach of mine from high school, who knew the groom through coaching high school football with him! It was definitely a random moment day for me.
Despite those fun moments, Charlie & Jill definitely planned this day around their family and friends by making sure everyone was going to enjoy themselves. I had such a great day with all of them and wish them the best!
They were applying some glitter powder from Victoria’s Secret. Her sister was really enjoying blowing the excess glitter dust away.
The little flower girl lost it during formal pictures. She wanted to climb up the hill, but of course her mom wanted her to stay and take pictures. She wasn’t too fond of that idea. Eventually we got her to cooperate
I’m sure alot of you have seen this at weddings, but their unity candle didn’t light. Jill thought it was quite humorous.
Charlie & Jill went on a little pre-honeymoon to Europe (!) in March. They had a few of their souvenirs on display at the reception.

I’m pretty sure that this bridesmaid was talking about me and how annoying I am
No really, I have no clue what or who they were talking about, but it was a fun moment to catch!
I believe this was the Electric Slide….
And this was the Cha Cha Slide.
