Introducing Andrew Earl!!!

Posted on January 17, 2009

Ha!  I get to write a post about my son :)

He was 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 19 3/4 inches.  We are amazed as to how small he is, especially since my first son was almost 11 pounds and 23 inches!!  Granted, my first son was 2 weeks overdue, but still… this guy is a peanut compared to the size he was!

I was up and about today thank goodness, so I was able to get out my camera and use some of the wonderful natural light in the room to get some pictures.  The first few I took while he was sound asleep.  The other ones I took when he was wide awake for over an hour right after a good feeding.  He was so alert and aware of what was going on around him!  You can see it from the pictures, so I was very happy to be ready with the camera to capture it.

Other than that, things are great!  I’m feeling way better after this scheduled c-section that I did with my first c-section, so maybe I’ll be back to work sooner than later :)

The weather outside is frightful…

Posted on January 14, 2009

Well, I think this could be my last post prior to going in for delivery on Friday.  It’s so strange knowing that there is a “for sure” end date to this pregnancy!  Very weird….

Anyway, I figured I would leave you with a few personal pictures that I took during our most recent snowy Monday.  It was so pretty outside, especially since it wasn’t below zero!!  My husband went out to shovel the driveway that afternoon, and my son loves getting bundled up and playing in the snow with him.  I, however, opted to stay inside and snap some pictures of them from the warmth and comfort of our home.  ;)

Everytime I get him ready to go outside, I feel like I’m the mother from The Christmas Story and he’s the little boy who can hardly move he is so wrapped up!

However, I think he lasted outside for at least 30 minutes… not bad for a 2 1/2 year old!

Loves to help Daddy shovel the driveway… and yes, we still have the tag on that shovel ;)

My husband finally refilled the bird feeder right outside our living room window.  This cardinal kept visiting the feeder periodically throughout the day.  I just so happened to have my camera out and ready and thought the red with the contrast on the white was awesome!

Introducing Quinn Michael!

Posted on January 9, 2009

So, coincidentally, two of my friends were due a few weeks apart, just a few weeks before I am due!  And, the other part of the coincidence is that we were all due with boys!!  Quinn was the first one to come.  He was due on Christmas Eve, but made his appearance on January 2nd.  I stopped by my friend’s house after my last session yesterday to visit and snap a few shots of her new guy.  It was crazy to hold someone so little and small!  I haven’t held an actual newborn for a while, so it was nice practice for when our guy comes next week.  I plan to visit my other friend, who had her boy on Wednesday, next week.  Stay tuned for more adorable newborn boy pictures!!

He is still very sleepy, so it was tough to catch him with his eyes open.  We managed to get this one at least!

Apparently, during his ultrasound, his fists were right as his mouth.  Looks like he is continuing the trend outside of the womb!
