Busy, busy, busy!

Posted on February 21, 2010

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  I have been crazy busy moving in, getting things set-up, and trying to keep my head above water.  I have a couple of photo sessions to catch up on and will do those hopefully tonight.  But first, I want to post a few photos of my studio!  It’s definitely a work in progress and needs to be cleaned up a bit, but you get the gist.  I need to also find something to go over my western & southern facing windows to help diffuse the sunlight coming in there.  So, I still have some finishing touches to do in there, but hopefully I’ll be done soon!

Anyway, here a few a photos.  I’ll be posting photos of Christian & Charlie’s wedding and Evan & Ben’s session… my first in the studio!

Lexi & Shawn – Centennial Lakes Park

Posted on February 9, 2010

I love winter engagement sessions.  If you can stand the cold, the photos you get are amazing!  And, if you are lucky enough to schedule your session while it’s snowing, double bonus!!  We originally had Lexi & Shawn’s engagement photos scheduled for this past Saturday and moved it to Sunday due to something that came up on my schedule.  It’s a good thing we did, because Saturday was a little dreary with no snow, but Sunday afternoon was gorgeous outside!  We were freezing by the end, but as you can see from the photos, it was well worth it.  I know Lexi from high school, and she met Shawn on Facebook, which is actually quite a fascinating story.  If I remember the details correctly, Lexi was brought up to really have a strong appreciation for the military/army/navy, etc.  I’m not sure if there was a special occasion (such as Veteran’s Day) or what, but she was on Facebook, picked out someone in the military, and sent him a message “Thank you for serving our country.”  This person happened to be Shawn.  They started talking, eventually met and started dating.  It’s quite an amazing story!!  They will be getting married next January, so hopefully the weather cooperates then for some more fantastic photos. :)

They had ice skating in the pond, which was really neat to watch in between shots.

Beckett – 12 months

Posted on February 3, 2010

This guy was so expressive and fun to photograph!  He kind of reminded me of my oldest, Nicholas, when he was his age.  Nicholas was always good to give me a bunch of different expressions, and Beckett was so exception.  He was so happy the entire time, too.  I don’t think he even cried or fussed even once.  He is a new walker, so he wasn’t really moving anywhere fast, much to my delight.  It definitely made my job easier trying to photograph him.  This session was also a big milestone for me, since it was the very last session I did in my old studio!  I will be officially moving everything over on February 14th. :)

Amanda & Brian are HUGE Twins fans, so of course, we had to photograph Beckett in this adorable hat. :)
