Sarah & Joel – Engaged!
Posted on August 30, 2010
When I first met with Sarah & Joel, they talked about how they set the date of their wedding around the MN St. Fair since they love it so much! We were originally tossing the idea around of doing an engagement photoshoot at the fair THIS year, however we decided it would be way too crowded. And, they wanted something a little more “nature-y”.
So, off to Hidden Falls Park in Savage we went, and boy did the bugs love that. As I’m writing this, I am in awe of the amount of bug bites all over my arms and legs. It was insane! In all of my years of doing outdoor photography, this was by far the worst case of bugs. It motivated me to carry bug repellant in my trunk for future, bug-infested, sessions.
Despite the bugs, everything else was perfect! Sarah & Joel are so madly in love with each other, and it’s always so much fun working with couples like that. It’s the little moments that you catch between them where you know they were meant to be. I can’t wait for their August wedding next year!

We had some fun in the creek

Jonathon – Class of 2011

I re-visted the area behind the Mill City Museum and the Guthrie in downtown Minneapolis for Jonathon’s senior photos. It felt a little redundant being there 2 nights in a row, however he was my first senior I took down there for photos. It was perfect! The lighting was great and the backdrops Minneapolis and Mother Nature provided were also great. Jonathon took some time to get warmed up, but once he did, he sure got into it. I think he actually ended up enjoying the session, too.
Fun working with you, Jonathon, and good luck in your last year of high school!

Sophia & Cole

I had a blast working with Sophia & Cole and their family. They couldn’t have asked for a better night! We decided to head over to the Guthrie/Mill City Museum in downtown Minneapolis, the same place I went for my May mini-sessions. It was exactly how I expected it to be, however the grass what a heck of alot longer! The same place where I had my chair sitting in the grass, the grass was taller than Sophia! It sure made for some fun photos, though. Both Cole & Sophia celebrated their birthdays this summer. Cole just turned 1 and Sophia 5. These two were adorable and gave me some adorable photos as well.

Cole is your typical, average, curious 1-year-old
