Jae & Kelli were fortunate enough to get married on one of the coldest days this year. Granted, the weather wasn’t too bad during the day, but once 5:30 hit… whew it was cold! This couple was referred to me by a friend of theirs (and personal attendant) who will be assisting me this year as a 2nd photographer for some of my weddings. It was also nice, because Betsy (the 2nd photographer/personal attendant) was also able to act as a 2nd photographer for me during this wedding! I saw some of her shots, and they were fantastic. I can’t wait to work with her more this year!
One to Jae & Kelli… they actually started dating a year ago from their wedding. They grew up so close to each other and went to the same college, but never met. Then, Jae’s aunt Barb (who apparently knew Kelli as well), thought that these two would be a perfect match. Boy, was she ever right! They both LOVE to watch professional sports. In fact, during their reception, instead of a dance, they surprised the guests with the Wild game on the big screen (TIVO’ed of course 🙂 )!! I was only booked until the beginning of the reception, so I wasn’t able to get shots of it, but Betsy did! Here are the shots I did get throughout the day. Enjoy!
Since it was too frigid to go outside, we made use of the huge windows in the church’s atrium. It’s amazing how many different shots you can get with different lenses, angles, & uses of light.
She couldn’t wait to come over and give him a squeeze, so Kelli just interrupted Jae’s individual portrait pictures! Thankfully, I was already done snapping his shots. 🙂
They were going to have their guests wave sparklers as they ran out of the church to the reception. I thought even the containers for the sparklers was creative!
Laughing it up before the ceremony.
I hate to post this picture, but it is too funny. I glanced out the back window during the ceremony, and here was one of the ushers, dosing off. I had a good angle and the lighting worked, so I took my shot! Thought it was a comical moment for the day.
Their recessional was to “Go, Vikings! Let’s win this game.” Cute, huh??
Yay! Sparklers! It was so flippin’ cold at this time, no one stuck around for very long to get some fun shots.
A quick (and I mean quick!) stop at Rice Park…
And then the Science Museum for the reception. This is where Jae proposed to Kelli, so they felt that it provided some special memories.
For those of you who are familiar with the Science Museum, try and follow along with where they are taking pictures!
Instead of wedding cake, they had different kinds of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Nummy!!!
Congrats, Jae & Kelli! Thanks for making me a part of your day!!!
